Flame retardant filament is a special material for 3D printing that has high resistance to flame and heat. It is ideal for applications where fire protection is required, such as the manufacture of enclosures, protective equipment or other fire-hazardous components. This filament is usually made from a mixture of flame retardant additives and a carrier material such as PA or ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene). The flame retardant additives slow the spread of flames and reduce the flammability of the printed object.
