About the highly efficient engraving lens
These high NA lenses can be used to focus or collimate laser light. The aspherical design reduces or nearly eliminates spherical aberration without the need for multiple lens elements. Its short effective focal length (EFL) of 4mm allows close-up of working distances. This lens has a broadband anti-reflective coating (AR) in the range of 400-700 nm on both surfaces, whereby it is suitable for an application of applications in addition to engraving at 450 nm wavelength.
The highly efficient mounted aspherical lens is designed to extract as much power as possible from the laser diode. Its short effective focal length (EFL) of 4 mm enables individual working distances, but quickly makes the focus spot twice as large as compared to high-resolution lenses. This lens should be used to engrave thick lines on wood or plastic.
Recommended focus distance: 20 - 80 mm
Note for engraving applications:
This lens is included with our PLH3D-6W series laser engravers. The lens surfaces are easy to clean if they get dirty during engraving. This can be done with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and an optical cloth. In some cases, however, the lens may be required. It is recommended that you purchase an additional lens for the PLH3D series laser heads if the product will be used in an environment where dust, smoke, or oil WILL BE generated.
Note that our PLH3D Series Focus Adjuster accessory is not compatible with this lens.
