This PWM was developed to operate small 3-6 V motors at a higher voltage.
At the input it is supplied with 6-18 V direct or alternating current. The circuit generates a pulse-width modulated voltage of 5 V. The modulation and thus the speed can be adjusted over a wide range using the small trimmer.
The circuit is suitable e.g. for controlling special functions in RC model building (radar antenna, windshield wiper, ...) and railway model building (wind turbines, fairground carousel, ...). If the input voltage is higher or the current drawn is high to cool the module accordingly in order to prevent overheating and unintentional changes in speed.
